Privacy Policy

This privacy policy covers Vitral Scanner, an Android app developed by Vitral Software. In short: the documents you scan never leave your device, you don't need an account, and we never upload your documents to any server.

1. What data we collect

We don't collect the documents, photos, signatures, or extracted text you create. All of it stays only in the app's own folder, on your device's own storage. Documents you move to the Locked Vault are additionally encrypted on-device with AES-256; the encryption key is stored in your device's own secure hardware store (Android Keystore). We can't access any of this either.

The app currently doesn't require a personal account, username, or email address.

2. Device permissions

• Camera — used to scan documents, IDs, or cards. Images are processed directly on your device and never sent to any server.
• Storage — used to save the PDF/Word files you create to your device and export them.
• Fingerprint / PIN verification — used only to unlock the Locked Vault, through your device's own biometric system; the biometric data itself never reaches us.

3. Text recognition (OCR) and scanning

The "Extract Text" feature uses Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition model. The scanned page image and the extracted text are processed on your device and never sent anywhere. Google Play Services may download this model to your device on first use; aside from that one-time download, your scanned content is never transmitted to Google.

4. Third-party services

The app shares limited, specific data with third parties only in the following cases:

• Google Play Billing — used to process Vitral Scanner Pro purchases. Your payment details are handled directly by Google Play and never reach us.
• Google AdMob — used to show ads in the free version. AdMob may process limited data, such as device identifiers, to serve ads. No ads are shown in the Pro version, and this data sharing does not occur there.

5. Data retention and deletion

All documents, signatures, and settings are kept only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes this data from your device. Deleting a document from within the app cannot be undone.

6. Children's privacy

Vitral Scanner is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from users under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page.
